Coordinate-Measuring Machine (CMM)

The Coordinate-Measuring Machine (CMM) is a device that measures the geometry of physical objects via a camera. The camera takes a series of pictures at different focal points and determines the height of a point by calculating which focal point results in the sharpest image. The camera moves on three different axes and never touches the component to be measured. Our facility is equipped with a CMM which we use for both development and testing purposes.
